While most enthusiasts have a particular wine paired with a particular type of food, beer enthusiasts also have their own pairings.

Tech Crunch featured a local brewery in San Francisco that helps its patrons choose the right beer for them through Digital Beer Curation. North County IntertwinedBistro Restaurant

“Craft beers aplenty but not sure what your taste buds might like to try? Local Brewing Company is a newly opened brewery in the SOMA neighborhood of San Francisco with an app for that. Brewmaster and owner of Local Brewing Company, Regan Long, developed a mobile platform to help founders, VC’s and other bar patrons in this tech-heavy area of the city figure out which beer to order. The platform ranks the brewery’s beers on a scale from one to 10 for bitterness, the level of alcohol each contains, and on the beer’s complexity of flavors – a light lager will be very different in taste from a hoppier beer, for instance.”

The Kitchn also helped its viewers pair beer with, surprise—halloween candy. Wine Menu

Ageing Beer

The Washington Post, meantime gave a mini tutorial on the proper way to age beer.

“First, when buying beer to age, avoid most IPAs, even strong ones. Because hops were used as a preservative when beer was shipped from England to India in the 19th century, some people wrongly believe that hops protect a beer as it ages.”
